Your symptoms—finger stiffness after activity (holding/reading), with occasional hand/leg discomfort—suggest a musculoskeletal or early inflammatory issue, most commonly: • Repetitive Strain Injury (overuse of hand muscles/joints) • Early Tendonitis • Less commonly, early Rheumatoid Arthritis (if morning stiffness, swelling, or multiple joints involved)
Next Steps
• Basic evaluation: – Check for swelling, redness, warmth in joints – Blood tests if persistent: ESR, CRP, RA factor • Initial treatment: – Short course of anti-inflammatory (after doctor advice) – Warm water soaks for hands – Physiotherapy / hand exercises • Ergonomic correction: – Avoid prolonged gripping/holding – Take frequent breaks
Health Tips
• Do gentle stretching of fingers/wrists daily • Use warm compress instead of cold • Maintain good posture while reading/working • Stay hydrated • Avoid continuous strain (break every 20–30 min) ⚠️ Red flags: • Morning stiffness >30–45 minutes • Joint swelling or deformity • Progressive worsening ⸻
