Hairloss issues
I was born with thick hair but when i was 10 year old from that time i used to pull my hair to form a tight ponytail because i hated loose ponytails ...when i was 15 or so i had noticed that my hair were thinning at the front of my head...i literally had very less hair in the front of my head till 17 but then i restrained from tieing my hair because i because conscious of how i look before that i didn't care ...then they started coming back...i am 19 right now ,my hair at front of my head are still not like when i was 10...little bit hairs came back but i still look like i have thin hairs because of that though i have thick hairs at the rest of my head specially back ...can i restore all the hairs that had fallen off because of pulling?

As per your history, it looks you are experiencing traction alopecia. But it is good to rule other added triggers for hair loss/thinning such hormonal or nutritional. To begin with make your diet protein and iron rich and keep your hair loose. For topical and oral medication to restore hair growth, you send your pics to me for direct consultation and we could get started with treatment. As you are a young patient, regrowth is possible even though may take time. Best Wishes, Dr Dash MD Dermatologist

Hairfall is not due to one single cause. There are many conditions which can cause extreme hair loss and thinning of hair on the scalp. So first and foremost we have to find the cause of hair fall with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes maybe nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia also called pattern baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and read the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Also one should refrain from home remedies as it does not give any relief from hair fall. Oil and shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin. Please contact me using online consultation for proper diagnosis and treatment
