Hairfall and Itchy Scalp
I'm having very serious hairfall and itchy scalp. Nearly 100-150 hair falling average a day. Going outside at sun heat intensifies the itch so much. And whenever i itch my scalp, i find dead cells like white sticky powder on my nail tips. I'm having this problem from last 2 years nearly. I stay at a rural area and here some good trichologist isn't available here. Please help.

There are many reasons for hair fall. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin.
