Hair loss - bald patches
Hi Am experiencing hair loss and I have bald patches on my head. My hair keeps falling and breaking when am taking shower. My scalp is not that itchy and scaly. But my armpits, ears and genital areas are very itchy. Went to the doctor and he gave shampoo and oral tablets for fungal infection and told me its tinea capitis. Before hair loss, my fingernails started becoming very dry and rough but they are not painful. Is it Alopecia areata? Is Betasalic S lotion and Tbis (0.1%) solution good for AA

You may be having alopecia areata. this is an autoimmune condition due to the attack of lymphocytes against hair roots. It results in the formation of bald patches on the scalp. It can affect any hairy area of the body also like eyebrows and  beard. It has to be treated properly for long duration until the immunity comes down. Once the immunity is controlled, hair grows back over the patches. Please call me or contact me with photos or visit me at my clinic for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
