Hair falling problem

For hair falling problem doctor suggest me minoxidil, biotin & finasteride.age is 25.i heard that finasteride has dangerous side effect.now im getting afraid taking this medicine. would u please help me knowing that, what kind of side effect it has & how much malign it can be for me?? should i continue it or stop it? my dose is 1mg. if i stop taking it, what can be the alternative for my hair falling problem which has no/minimal side effect that causes no harm for body or the harm is ignorable.
