Gym Injury
Hello Doctor, I had a mild leg sprain recently and was advised to take rest. However, I went to the gym and since then the pain and discomfort have worsened. I am now experiencing increased pain while walking and slight swelling. Could you please advise if I should continue complete rest. Thank you.

You should take rest when advised even if u r feeling better.. it will worsen the situation. Take rest atleast for a week... no walking except for the toilet.

Your initial mild sprain has likely worsened due to early gym activity, and now shows: • Increased pain while walking • Mild swelling
Health Tips
• Avoid massage in the first 48–72 hours • Use ankle support/brace • Gradually start physiotherapy after pain reduces • Do not rush back to gym—return only after full recovery ⚠️ Red flags: • Severe swelling or bruising • Inability to walk • Persistent worsening pain ⸻
