Gum swelling
As said this is for my 4 yr girl child. She has gum swelling over top center tooth from past two weeks. Tooth root looks clear as shown in the x-ray. But keep Triggering each time she eats solid. Had fever for two days thou now its down . How to reverse the situation to stop swelling ? what is the cause ?

Hi,this is a milk tooth,the reason of swelling is a periapical infection for sure,an antibiotic should be taken and the tooth should be removed.

It looks like an abscess has formed inside the gums and bone above this tooth. The tooth itself looks like there is a deep cavity, Xray isn't clear. The fever is due to the abscess most probably. Depending on how much root is there, the dentist will suggest removal of the tooth or a root cleaning followed by placement of a medicine within the root canals (pulpectomy), along with prescription of antibiotic and an analgesic.
