Growth of a brown rough mole on leg

I am an 18 year old girl and i have a brown rough mole on my right leg below my knees. It doesn't pain but sometimes when a try to scrape off the top which looks like dead skin, it bleeds. It is round in shape and a rough to touch. It's been a few months since its growth started and has become quite prominent and ugly now.What exactly is this and can i get it removed through surgery? And what other options do i have for its removal?
