In an 85-year-old, groin pain and difficulty walking after a fall is always a cause for concern, even if she can stand or sleep on that side such symptoms can indicate an occult hip fracture or pelvic fracture, which may not be obvious initially pain while turning in bed and trouble walking are red flags in this age group she should be evaluated urgently with X-rays of the pelvis and hip, and if normal but pain persists, an MRI may be needed
Elderly patients with history of fall will most likely have a fracture (with complaints of difficulty in walking )
