Genital herpies from 1.8 years
Hi doctors,
On March 2 I got a report of herpes. In the report it was showing IgG 11. I started treatment with the first doctor and took medicine for 4 months. Now on August 16 I went with the other doctor, and now I took the report, changed, and took treatment for 25 days, and now I took the report; now IgG was 5.7. I am confused. Should I take treatment with the first doctor or the second doctor? The second doctor's treatment started 25 days before. Please help to find which medicine worked

About Herpes IgG Test
IgG positive means that herpes infection has occurred at some point in the past and your body has developed antibodies.
The number (value) may fluctuate (e.g., from 11 down to 5.7) but it does not mean that the infection has gone or increased in the same proportion. Once IgG is positive, it usually stays positive lifelong.
Therefore, IgG levels should not be used to monitor treatment success. Instead, doctors monitor your symptoms (frequency of outbreaks, severity, healing time, overall immunity).

IgG levels only show past exposure, not whether treatment is working. Falling values don’t mean the infection is gone. Herpes usually stays in the body and needs proper long-term management. I suggest you continue with one trusted doctor instead of switching, and discuss your reports with them for the right guidance.
