This is a girl speaking wanting to be a mother soon. I’ve heard that to see if a man will have male pattern baldness, he should look at his maternal grandfather. My dad is bald (started losing hair as soon as early 20s) but I have extremely thick hair. Are there any genetic tests I can use to see if my son would take on my father’s genes? Despite my thick hair, could I carry on the male pattern baldness gene on the X chromosome over to him?
