General Enquiry on Blood test
Hello dear sir/madam, Last June, I underwent a full-body blood test, and most results were normal. My TSH was 3.9, and Vitamin B12 was 212. My doctor explained that, since I work night shifts, stress might have contributed to these borderline values. She advised me to repeat thyroid and B12 tests every 2–3 months. Over the past year, I’ve done three follow-up tests, with TSH levels of 3.7, 3.2, and 3.1, while B12 has remained around 230. Given this trend, how frequently should I continue these tests. I am not under any medication and i dont even have any symptoms. Kindly advise.

Your TSH has been steadily trending towards a more normal range (3.9 to 3.1) and B12 has been stable around 230 — all without any medication, which is reassuring. Since you have no symptoms and the values are borderline rather than clearly abnormal, repeating these tests every 2–3 months is more frequent than necessary at this stage. A 6-monthly repeat is more appropriate now given the stable trend.
Next Steps
Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation so I can advise you based on your complete history and whether any supplementation is needed.

Please share if you have any symptoms . Not necessary to repeat b12 levels. Improve it with diet. Get thyroid profile done quarterly.

Hi, TSH and B12 levels are borderline but stable and common with night shifts and stress. 😊 Repeating every 6 months is sufficient now. Feel free to consult for further guidance. 👍

Your TSH values are within the normal range and have been stable. Vitamin B12 is on the lower side but has remained fairly unchanged, and since you do not have symptoms, this is reassuring.
Next Steps
• Repeat TSH and Vitamin B12 once a year if you remain symptom-free. • Maintain a balanced diet with adequate B12 intake. • Consult a General Physician if you develop fatigue, weight changes, tingling, or other symptoms. • If you wish, you may also book a consultation through the platform for personalized medical advice.
