Gct in 26 th week of pregnancy
My gynae prescribed gct test at 26th week of pregnancy, she didnt mention the procedure. So the lab guy asked me to do fasting of 8 to 10 hours, then to drink 75 gram glucose and he took blood sample after one hour like 7.40 am i finished glucose solution and at 8.40 am he took blood sample and the results were 202.. is it right procedure? If yes what could be done for such high value. Also i am on strict bed rest due to past miscarriage due to incompetent cervix.

No. The procedure is not perfect. No starvation is required before GCT. The blood sample is taken 90 minutes after breakfast . In pregnancy GCT is normally done by 20 weeks. Please consult with your Gynaecologist regarding further management because this GCT may not help in your management.
