1) First, don’t worry — excessive crying at 45 days is very common. This age (4–8 weeks) is peak time for colic / gas / mild reflux, and most babies improve by 3–4 months. 2) About Formula Choice Yes, Dexolac Stage 1 is a safe and standard infant formula. It is absolutely acceptable to use. The options your doctor gave (Dexolac, NAN Pro, Aptamil) are all: Standard Stage 1 formulas Nutritionally complete Safe for infants 0–6 months 3) There is no “best” brand universally — the best formula is the one that: - Suits your baby - Causes less gas / spit-up - Is affordable and consistently available 4) Important Things to Know Changing formula sometimes helps, but many times crying at this age is simply colic — not formula intolerance. **True formula intolerance signs are:** Blood in stool Persistent vomiting Severe rash Poor weight gain 5) If these are not present, it is usually functional colic. What Helps in Gas / Reflux - Burp properly after every feed - Keep baby upright for 20–30 minutes after feeding - Avoid overfeeding - Smaller, frequent feeds - Gentle tummy massage Probiotic drops are commonly prescribed and can help some babies. Dexolac Stage 1 is good. NAN Pro and Aptamil are also good. The difference is minor unless baby has a specific allergy.
Next Steps
At 45 days, crying is usually developmental and improves naturally. If you want, tell me: Is baby gaining weight properly? How many times is she passing stool? Is vomiting forceful or just small spit-ups? I’ll guide you further.

All newborn babies cry excessively in night especially from 7-8 pm till early morning. If breastfeeding is insufficient in quantity and you are giving formula feed for that then make sure you DO NOT USE BOTTLE for feeding.and only use wati spoon for giving formula feed .And always stir well instead of shaking it while preparing formula feed . Encourage Breastfeeding exclusively as it is best for baby.
Next Steps
Visit lactation consultant to increase Breast feeding output to avoid formula feed
