Hello there. Sorry to hear of your son's troubles. It is understandable that your son is anxious after the incident. Please give him the time and space to process this and most likely it'll settle. You could patiently listen to him, acknowledge his fears and reassure him that it'll be alright. Also communicate to him that you'll help him in case there is any difficulty. Our patient and calm attitude (despite our inner anxieties) will help him deal with the situation better. It would also be helpful to distract him and gradually get him to do things that he likes (this could involve physical activity). There is no reason not to travel in the coming days. Perhaps give him something to look forward to with regards to the visit to your native place (like meeting grandparents or cousins, or visiting a nearby place with good sights, etc). Kindly do not scold him if he asks for reassurance as sometimes our helplessness can manifest as anger or irritation. Wishing you and your son the best and enjoy your trip.
