Finger cut on the tip of right hand

My son is a national lawn tennis player.while playing tennis he is suffering with severe deep cut on right hand tip of first finger evey day.he is keeping finger tip as a grip to handle the racket.we are suggesting him the grip but he is saying that it is impossible now and could not play his game as good as he is playing now if he change his grip
