Fever and tummy ache in 6 yr old

Asked for Female, 34 Years

Daughter, v6 yr old having fever and pain in tummy since 2 days. Fever coming on after 6-7 hrs. One episode of loose stools. Vomiting 3 times today. Had acute gastroenteritis last week . Was given norflox tz for 3 days.

Hi thanks for writing to Practo. Please do not start antibiotic on your own. It may make more harm than good if used unnecessarily. Give ORS 1/2-1 glass after each loose motion. And if baby is having too much vomiting or loose motion revisit pediatrician.
