Fever and cold during breast feeding
Have blocked nose for 1 day and temp 99.8-100.6 since 1/2 day ...I am breastfeeding mom for a 2.5 month baby ...can I take dolo 650 for fever ...do I need to stop breast feed for a while ..pls suggest

At this temperature and with only 1 day of symptoms, it is almost certainly viral (not bacterial), and most breastfeeding mothers can safely manage it without stopping breastfeeding or using strong medicines.
Dolo 650 (Paracetamol 650 mg) is completely safe while breastfeeding — it passes into breast milk in very tiny amounts (

• Fever & comfort:
• Dolo 650 as above
• Sponge with lukewarm water if fever >101°F
• Rest as much as possible (ask family to help with baby care)
• Blocked nose relief (safe while breastfeeding):
• Plain saline nasal drops (Otrivin-S, Nasoclear, Sterimar) — 2–3 drops each nostril, 4–6 times a day
• Steam inhalation (plain hot water) — 10 min, 2–3 times a day
• Sleep with head slightly elevated (extra pillow)
• Drink warm fluids — water, herbal tea (tulsi/ginger, no caffeine), soup, kadha
• Safe medicines you can take if needed (all safe in breastfeeding):
• Cetirizine 10 mg once daily (for nose blockage if very severe)
• Paracetamol + Phenylephrine combination (e.g., Sinarest) — only 1–2 days if nose very blocked
• Avoid pseudoephedrine (Sudafed-type) — can reduce milk supply
• Protect baby:
• Wash hands before every feed/handle
• Wear mask while breastfeeding if possible (reduces droplet spread)
• Continue exclusive breastfeeding — your milk is best protection for baby
Most breastfeeding moms with mild viral illness recover in 3–7 days without stopping feeds.
Dolo 650 is safe, and you can continue nursing normally.
If fever rises >101.5°F, symptoms worsen, or you feel very weak, see a doctor promptly (GP or gynecologist who knows you are breastfeeding).
