Hello Friend, Good that you are seeking a help here. Any relationship break up or failure such as yours will take min 6 months time to accept the failure and adjust with reality. You are in the transition phase of this journey and such feelings and behaviors are quite obvious to experience. Don't try to forget the past. More you try to forget, the past memories will keep increasing and bother you more. Instead try to accept the past as it is and try to divert your thoughts and actions on others priorities in life. I know it's easier said than done. Take a counseling help to find different ways to cope with this suitation and focus your life differently. Feel free to reach me online or call for further assistance. Be positive. You will be alright soon.

Hello, It usually take weeks or few month to get adjusted. If the sadness prevails even after that then you need to consult a neuropsychiatric center. If along with sadness you are having loss of interest in previous pleasurable activity, feeling lonely, change in appetite and sleep, low in energy, confidence, hopeless, helpless, worthless feeling and sometime even suicidal ideas. Then you might have depression. Few of these symptoms or all can be present at a time.
