Feeling disconnected
I got married to love of my life one and half years ago.Iam thirty and a mother of nine month old baby. I was fine till last three months of my delivery also but since then I started feeling emotionally disconnected with everyone around me.I had a huge accident in fifth month of my pregnancy with a severe jaw fracture and I lost almost 20 of my teeth. Underwent a surgery and had to stay in hospital for ten days and completely depend on soft fud throughout my pregnancy. My husband was my biggest strength throughout the journey. I was fine and strong then but now I get anger and irritation very quickly. I feel like nobody understands me.i feel like I need lots and lots of love and someone on whom I can burst out all my irritation on and right now it is my husband..my parents don't know what iam feeling and keep saying that you changed after marriage. Iam very happy and lovable with my baby. I know its wrong to shout on my loved ones but couldn't control. is this a phase which will pass..

Postpartum Depression is common after pregnant women go through a lot during there  months. There is hormonal changes that take place which affect mood and medication is there. It's good that you have a support from husband. Do communicate how you feel with him. Also, there is a need for you to consult a psychologist for the issue that is not on surface especially after the trauma you went through. Tip : consult a psychologist

What you share is quite a bit of stress causing circumstances .. having a baby itself will require lot of bodily adjustments. I would think seeking help of a psychologist to deal with the situation will help. It may not require long term work, but may require short-term work. In case along with anger outbursts if there is crying spells, loss of interest, it could be postpartum depression. Again a therapist would help.

Hi... I suppose I have answered a similar query recently, if it was yours, I suggest you start counselling with any therapist online or offline. Psychotherapy/Counselling is meant to help people recover from such psychological difficulties. In your case your health condition has deeply impacted on your psychological health and made you perceive your emotional environment in a completely different way which may or may not be true. Simple therapeutic interventions using approaches like CBT can help you rearrange your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in the right way.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist. CBT along with Lifestyle Guidance and Interpersonal Relationship Counselling is required.
