Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern your fecal calprotectin result of 93 and previous colonoscopy showing chronic non-specific colitis and infective ileo-colitis can understandably raise questions about inflammatory bowel disease or irritable bowel syndrome. ✅ Advices • Fecal calprotectin is a marker of intestinal inflammation. Mildly elevated levels, like yours, can occur with infections, minor inflammation, or chronic non-specific colitis and do not confirm IBD on their own • Maintain a balanced diet avoiding foods that trigger symptoms, such as very spicy or oily meals • Keep a symptom diary noting abdominal pain, stool frequency, consistency, blood in stool, and any systemic symptoms What to Monitor • Persistent diarrhea, blood in stool, weight loss, or fever • Increase in abdominal pain or new gastrointestinal symptoms • Any changes in bowel habits lasting more than a few weeks Management Since your previous colonoscopy already evaluated the colon and the doctor did not recommend repeat examination, ongoing management should focus on symptom control and monitoring. Avoid self-starting strong medications. If symptoms worsen or new red flags appear, further investigation may be needed. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately • Blood in stool or black tarry stools • Significant unintentional weight loss • Severe abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea, or fever Every patient situation is unique. For accurate interpretation and a personalized plan, it is important to review your full medical history, lab results, and current symptoms. You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one-on-one consultation where you will receive: A personalized treatment plan Safe medicine adjustments if required Quick follow-ups to track your recovery Take care wishing you good health Best regards Dr. Romain Rajan General Physician
