It’s very common for mental distress to manifest as physical symptoms what we call the mind-body connection. Your nervous system is likely in a state of 'high alert,' which affects everything from your sleep to your digestion.
As a psychiatrist, I look at the whole picture your physical health, your environment, and your neurochemistry. Understanding these links is the first step toward relief. I invite you to a consultation where we can break down these symptoms scientifically and build a management plan that works for your specific lifestyle."

Hey, it does look like illness anxiety syndrome. And yes it's treatable. Please consult your cousin once because as you described the condition here, it looks severe and initially medications will be needed.

Yes — this is health anxiety (illness anxiety) with obsessive checking, not rabies.
Rabies does not spread by passing near dogs, seeing red dots, or touching surfaces. You were vaccinated and tested. Your fear is anxiety-driven, not infection-driven.
Is it curable?
Yes — very treatable. With proper therapy (CBT/ERP) ± medication, most people improve significantly.
Whom to consult first?
Psychiatrist first — to assess severity and decide if medication is needed.
Then psychotherapy (clinical psychologist) for CBT.
This is anxiety, not rabies. And it is treatable.
Hi.Glad that you reached out. I would advise you to consult a psychiatrist first. They will assess and see if medications is needed or only therapy will suffice. Based on it you can then consult a psychologist as well later. You may need regular follow up with both.
Don’t worry. The anxiety you are feeling because of the thoughts is curable.
