Extreme nicotine withdrawl symptoms
I am suffering nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Took 4mg nicotine chewing gums for 2 years, for past two months it was 7-8 gums a day and two cigarettes. Now quit cold turkey, feeling worse. Includes : feeling of getting an attack and anxiety attacks. What needs to be done in this situation ? Do you think taking sedatives / sort of sleeping pills would be a good decision ? I don't want to get hold of another bad habit of having sleeping pills to get sleep.

I assume that you have self medicated yourself with nicotine chewing gums. Nicotine chewing gums are supposed to be taken for some weeks, withdrawals are occuring as you have misused the gums and have developed dependence on them. In this situation you need to take medicines which wont have dependence and also taper the medicines off with proper consultation of your psychiatrist. A proper planned treatment wont cause dependence for sure.

Hi Taking sleep pill is not the appropriate treatment. It will be much better if you go with nicotine gum and reduce it by  one or two gums per week. Thanks and regards.

Sleeping pills is definitely not an option. Would suggest you to meet a psychiatrist in person to help you out of this addiction

A nicotine patch would help you more as it would give round the clock control.
Next Steps
contact a psychiatrist for guidance

Sleeping pills not an option at all. You need to discontinue nicotine gum gradually. If you are not helped optimally by nicotine chewing gum then buprobion ( under psychiatrist guidance) is another option. Meanwhile you also require counseling sessions with clinical psychologist. Wishing you fast recovery and good health.
