Thank you for your query. Homeopathic liquid medicines (mother tinctures and dilutions) usually contain alcohol as a preservative, which gives them a relatively long shelf life compared to many other medicines. Because of this, expiry dates are sometimes not prominently mentioned on the label. However, it is not advisable to use them indefinitely. In general: • If stored properly (away from sunlight, heat, strong odors, and tightly closed), they can remain effective for several years • As a safe practice, it is better to use them within 3–5 years from the date of manufacture Please also check for any changes in: • Color • Smell • Clarity (any cloudiness or particles) If any such changes are noticed, the medicine should be discarded.

Hello! This is a very common and excellent question. Homeopathic liquid dilutions are prepared in a high-grade alcohol base, which acts as an excellent natural preservative. Because of this, genuine homeopathic dilutions (potencies like 30, 200, 1M) technically have an indefinite shelf life and do not lose their medicinal properties as long as they are stored correctly. However, as per current Indian regulatory guidelines under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, pharmaceutical companies are now required to print a standard expiry date of 5 years from the date of manufacturing on sealed bottles. If you have an older, loose bottle given by a clinic without a printed date, it is generally safe and effective to use for many years, provided the alcohol has not evaporated and the liquid remains clear.
Next Steps
Inspect the medicine: Check if the liquid has become cloudy, changed color, or if it has lost its strong alcoholic smell. If any of these changes are present, or if the alcohol has largely evaporated, it is best to discard the bottle. Review your symptoms: Even if the medicine is physically fine, ensure it is still the correct remedy for your current symptoms. Avoid taking old medicines simply because you have them on hand. Seek a fresh consultation: If you are experiencing new or recurring health issues, please book a consultation so your current symptom totality can be assessed and the most appropriate remedy and dosage can be prescribed.
Health Tips
Storage is key: To maximize the life of your homeopathic medicines, always store them in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Avoid strong odors: Keep the bottles away from strong-smelling substances like camphor, strong perfumes, mint, or essential oils, as these strong volatile odors can potentially neutralize the medicine's effects. Keep it tightly sealed: Always ensure the cap is closed tightly immediately after use to prevent the alcohol base from evaporating.

Usually it has no expiry date bcz of alcohol content which preserves it nicely Generally expiry date written over the vial if not written you can use it for 5 years and for that place it in a clean dry and cool place where no any smelly substance is there
