Could be due to anxiety, due to indigestion, even heart problem.
Drink more water, avoid taking meals late in evening and heavy meals in evening.
Get thyroid profile, ecg, echo, done and share results.
You are having Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), which is effectively treated using a combination of psychotherapy, targeted medication, and lifestyle adjustments.
Initially incorporating daily habits can significantly reduce your anxiety. They are physical Activity. Regular aerobic exercise (like brisk walking or yoga) is a powerful stress reducer that triggers the release of mood-boosting endorphins.
Dietary Adjustments: Cut back on caffeine, sugar, and alcohol, as they can trigger or worsen anxiety and panic symptoms.
Relaxation Techniques: Practice mindfulness, deep breathing exercises, or the "3-3-3 rule" (identifying three things you see, three sounds you hear, and moving three body parts) to ground yourself during acute anxious episodes.
Sleep Hygiene: Establish a strict, restful sleep schedule, as fatigue frequently exacerbates anxiety.
If this fails we can start with psychotherapy and medication.
Your blood counts are reassuringly normal â with Hb of 16 and a normal CBC, anemia and infection are clearly ruled out. Given the combination of intermittent shortness of breath, excessive yawning, tiredness, and a known background of health anxiety, this pattern is very consistent with anxiety-related breathing dysregulation. In anxiety, the breathing rhythm can subtly shift, causing slight overbreathing or altered CO2 levels, which the body tries to correct through increased yawning â this is a recognized and common mechanism in people experiencing health anxiety.

Getting a thyroid profile (TSH) and Vitamin D and B12 levels done would help rule out metabolic causes of fatigue. If those are normal, working on the underlying health anxiety with a doctor or counselor will likely resolve these symptoms significantly. Excessive yawning and fatigue despite adequate sleep can occur due to several reasons, including:
Stress and anxiety (especially health anxiety)
Poor sleep quality despite adequate sleep duration
Vitamin deficiencies (Vitamin B12, Vitamin D)
Thyroid disorders
Post-viral fatigue
Less commonly, cardiac, respiratory, or neurological conditions
Since your CBC was normal 3 months ago and hemoglobin was adequate, anemia is less likely.
Next Steps
CBC, Thyroid Profile (TSH), Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels.
Regular exercise and good sleep hygiene.
Evaluation for anxiety/stress if symptoms persist.
Health Tips
If you develop persistent shortness of breath, chest pain, fainting episodes, or worsening fatigue, seek medical attention promptly.
Since the symptoms started one month ago, better do CBC once more. The result 3 month ago can be very different from present situation.Recent viral infections can cause fatigue in recovery phase. Also check oxygen saturation. 8-9 hours of sleep doesn't mean a person is getting good quality sleep. You mentioned health anxiety. The yawning can happen in stress.
There can be multiple reasons - like faulty lifestyle (like late night activities etc) , obesity , anxiety & stress . Proper history & examination can only help in diagnosing the problem
Excessive yawning, tiredness, and intermittent shortness of breath can be associated with anxiety, stress, fatigue, vitamin deficiencies or other underlying conditions.
