My father hand was swelled up after Glucose drip was taken off. Later we went to surgeon for the check up. He did the small incision to take out the pus. But since last 10 days I am going for Dressing and we see lot of Pus comes out daily  from his hand He is diabetic but now a days his sugar levels is between 80-90. Doctor has asked for Pus culture test. Can you please tell me what could be the issue? Why his wounds are not recovering .

See as per your history Patinet have dibetes As dibetic wound heals very slow If his sugars are in control it will still take time If possible post the photos of wound Dressing will not be helpful if the single time debridement was done See why I asked photo is to see the wound Second what's is the age of patinet why just dressing going on it depends on the age also Many times we do the debridement under local anaesthesia also So tell me the age? See if pus still comes from wound the wound required a debridement So after debridement we can try wound healing gels Or dressing which help in healing
