Escitalopram is the preferred SSRI now a days and appears to have less side effects in comparison to the others.
Even for the the elderly, Even psychiatrist prefer to use it. Whatever the SSRIs written, dose is to be adjusted and most of the times , lower doses of SSRIs are recommended in the elderly.
