Enlarged prostate with severe cystitis
My father suddenly felt severe pain in urine discharge and urine discharge was blocked. Had to inert pipe (don't know medical term). Report says enlarged prostate with severe cystitis. Attached ultrasound and report. I wanted to know what is the next course of treatment surgery or medication.

Normal prostate size is 18 ml.
Ur father's prostate enlarged to 110ml with urinary retention.
Medication can be tried and Foley catheter free voiding trial can be given.
But chances for symptomatic improvement are less.
Better to consult a urologist and discuss regarding the options.
Surgical options is TURP. Don't worry ,it's a common problem.
