Give higher dose of insulin to him today, with a full meal. A physician can help you to adjust  insulin doses. You can co nsult online and learn to monitor the blood sugar  level and titrate dose of insulin accordi ngly. Food is must with insulin to prevent hypoglycemia.

Sometimes the sugar level of diabetes patients can go low. But it can be managed by giving immediate glucose via injection. Which might increase the sugar level very high for sometime. Usually the doctors observe such patients for 1 or 2 days and donot use insulin as it can cause sudden hypoglycaemia again. Repeated glucose tests has to be done to monitor the sugar level.
