You received complete post-exposure prophylaxis (RIG + full 5-dose vaccine schedule), which is the gold standard for Rabies prevention. Regarding your RFFIT = 0.32 IU/ml (cut-off >0.5): • This is slightly below the protective threshold, but • In healthy individuals, antibody levels can vary depending on timing and lab factors • Most importantly → clinical protection after proper vaccination is extremely high, even if titres fluctuate
Next Steps
• You can take 2 booster doses of rabies vaccine (Day 0 and Day 3) for reassurance – Vaccine: Rabies Vaccine • No need for repeat RIG • Repeat antibody test only if still anxious (optional, not mandatory)
Health Tips
• Antibody titres can vary—they don’t always perfectly reflect protection • Timing of test matters (too early/late can show lower values) • Your immune system is normal → good response expected • Avoid repeated unnecessary testing—it increases anxiety ⚠️ Important reassurance: • No symptoms of rabies • Proper wound care + full vaccination already done ⸻
