After eating very little food my stomach feels full like I have eaten big meal. From very beginning I am underweight 44kg, 6ft 1inch height. No pain in stomach. Not allergic to dairy products or anything like that everything normal. In 2020 I had slight pain in stomach after eating outside then I went to doctor and was prescribed a probiotic called Live Freeze-Dried Lactic Acid Bacteria and Bidobacteria Capsules VSL#3. After having this probiotic my early satiety problem vanished I could eat big meals without getting fullness in stomach. But after treatment got over (I don't remember how long it was prescribed) I was again feeling full after eating small meal. What should I do?

Hi,
Ideally what we need to do is a full dietary recall. Then we identify food items which lead to any symptoms of bloating, acidity or diarrhea/constipation
After that we get a basic blood test panel done to assess nutritional status
Then we diagnose what you are going through and deal with that

You can try taking Ensure powder with milk daily for few months.
Also, you can start taking some multivitamins to improve your appetite & over all health as you eat less there might be high changes of nutrition deficiency.
To relieve feeling full after eating little food, try eating smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding carbonated drinks and gas-producing foods, and managing stress through relaxation techniques like deep breathing.
Opinion:**
Your symptoms—early satiety (feeling full quickly) despite being underweight—suggest **impaired gastric motility** (slow stomach emptying) or a **gut microbiome imbalance**. The fact that probiotics (VSL#3) previously resolved your issue strongly points toward a **gut bacteria-related cause**, such as **Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)** or **dysbiosis** (microbial imbalance). Since there’s no pain or allergies, structural issues (like ulcers or obstructions) are less likely.
### **Next Steps:**
1. **Retry Probiotics:**
- Resume **VSL#3** or a similar high-potency probiotic (e.g., Visbiome, Align, or Culturelle) for **4–6 weeks** to see if symptoms improve.
- Take it **30 mins before meals** for better digestion.
2. **Diet Adjustments:**
- Eat **small, frequent meals** (5–6/day) instead of large ones.
- Avoid **carbonated drinks, excessive fiber, or fatty foods** that delay stomach emptying.
- Try **ginger tea or peppermint** (natural prokinetics) to aid digestion.
3. **Rule Out SIBO/Gastroparesis:**
- If probiotics don’t help, consult me for a **hydrogen breath test (for SIBO)** or **gastric emptying study (for gastroparesis)**.
4. **Monitor Weight & Nutrition:**
- Track calorie intake to prevent further weight loss.
- Consider **nutritional shakes** (e.g., Ensure) if struggling to eat enough.
**Why Follow Up?**
Early satiety + underweight status can lead to malnutrition if untreated. Let’s identify the root cause—**schedule a consultation** for targeted testing/treatment. Probiotics may be the fix, but if not, we’ll explore further.
