For the past week i have had a swollen gland and ear pain in my right ear and only at night. the ear pain hasn't been sharp just sort of a hot sensation quite painful and annoying. i've had 2 other earaches in the past two/three months but they have gone away. this current earache only occurs at night and at around 10pm it begins to hurt.

You seem to be suffering from referred ear pain secondary to cervical lymphadenitis and throat infection. You may need to take antibiotics and painkillers for few days for faster recovery
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
