Do ear piercing only from an appropriate place. Use single use needle, avoid gun if possible. Use small gold or titanium earring afterwards. Apply povidone iodine/ warm normal saline on earlobes for 2-3 days after piercing. Touch ears only with clean hands. Keep earring on for at least 6 weeks. Mild redness and swelling can persist for 2-3 days, don't worry. If there is excessive pain, bloody discharge, pus discharge, etc.
Health Tips
if there is family history of bleeding disorders/ keloid formation, then better to consult pediatrician before ear piercing
