In high altitude we developed a condition known as eustachian tube dysfunction which is normal in most of the individuals during flight. It occurs because of dysfunction of middle ear ventilation in altered atmospheric pressure at high altitude.
Symptoms can be overcome by doing frequent valsalva maneuver, or using a soft chewing gum while on flight. No medicines are helpful
