Duration of isolation for covid
Sir/Madam, I got more than 102F fever 2 days before and went to the hospital to check up. The doctor told the nurse to perform RAT and they told me that I was positive. The doctor advised me 14 days of home isolation and some medicine. The medicines did not include any antibiotics. Please let me know should I go for RT/PCR and what are the new guide lines for home isolation and whether I have to go for RAT after 7days or after 14 days? I had covid last year and after that I took 2 covidshield vaccines last year.

No antibiotics work in covid as it is a viral disease. A RAT positive result is enough and you need to get yourself isolated for 7 days as per govt guidelines following which a repeat RTPCR (preferably) should be done to determine if you are negative. Keep yourself hydrated and practice proper hygiene. Co sult if and when needed.
