Dull Knee Pain
Hi. I am a 16 year old male. About six days ago I was running and jumped to avoid something and landed on the ground. I’ve had a dull pain in my right knee since. The pain isn’t severe, and it is located on the lower outside portion of my right knee, right next to the patella. It only hurts when I straighten fully or bend it all the way. Also, it can hurt or lock when I walk if I take too big a step, but walking is mostly normal. There is minimal to no swelling or bruising in the area.

the above symtoms are suggestive of meniscal injury. First get a MRI scan of the knee, take anti inflammatory medicines and give rest to the knee until definitive treatment is planned on the basis of MRI report.

Hi. Since the injury is acute in onset after a typical jump land trauma, it is likely that you might have a structural injury to your knee(like meniscus, cartilage or ligament). It's better for you reduce or avoid weight bearing, do only knee movements(0-90 deg), keep ice packs and take mild analgesics till you consult a sports medicine consultant or an ortho.
