The maximum dose of sertraline is 200. Do not know the reason your doctor would have started you on a new medicine without reaching the full dose of sertraline. Complications are unlikely although you should keep a watch on blood pressure. You may feel dry mouth,  sedation.

Dear Practo user,   Sertraline is usually given for people experiencing Depression, Anxiety or Obsessive Compulsive symptoms. Which is the scenario in your your case is not mentioned. However, if you are tolerating this medicine and started showing some improvement, the dose can be increased up to the maximum level depends upon your improvement. And a drug has to be given for certain period of time to confirm whether its working or not. In your case the doctor has added another group of antidepressant probably for additional benefit. If reducing the dose of sertraline is as per your doctor's advise ,then you follow it as per his suggestion because probably he might have had a rationale in doing that so.     Most of the drugs may have some side effects mostly minimal and tolerable. With time the side effects may reduce as your body get adopted to that. .

Dear client Imipramine is a TCA which is a very effective drug. However it has its share of side effects like dry mouth, constipation, dizziness. It needs to be increased gradually for better tolerability. Trust your doctor and see how do you respond to it. It is a good drug in terms of efficacy. Thank you. Dr Rajesh Rathi
