Dosage query
I mistakenly took 400 mg of amisulpride. The normal dosage prescribed by my doc is 200 mg. The next dose is after 24 hours at night. Should I be worried about any side effects?

Do NOT take any more medication until your next scheduled dose (skip any extra if unsure). Monitor symptoms: If you develop severe drowsiness, fainting, irregular heartbeat, or muscle stiffness with fever (very rare), seek emergency care immediately.

Single dose unlikely to cause any side effects. You can continue with your regular dosing from the next day.

Even if you feel fine now, side effects like dizziness, restlessness, or heart rhythm changes can show up later. Your safety matters more than waiting.

Hi, You have taken a double dose (400 mg instead of 200 mg) of amisulpride by mistake. In most healthy adults, a single extra dose may not cause serious harm, but it can increase the risk of side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, low blood pressure, restlessness, tremors, or palpitations.
Next Steps
1. DO NOT take any more medication until your next scheduled dose (skip extra doses). 2. Monitor yourself for the next 24 hours for symptoms like excessive sleepiness, chest pain, fainting, or abnormal movements. 3. Inform your treating doctor immediately about the extra dose for proper guidance. 4. If you develop severe dizziness, fainting, breathing difficulty, or palpitations, seek emergency medical help right away. Health Tips
1. Always keep medicines in a pill box or set reminders to avoid accidental double dosing. 2. Do not self-adjust doses without your doctor’s advice. 3. Since amisulpride can affect heart rhythm, it is better to be cautious and let your doctor know even if you feel fine.

Amisulpride is a prescription medicine, and taking more than the advised dose can sometimes increase the risk of side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, restlessness, palpitations, or gastrointestinal discomfort.
Next Steps
Since you have taken double the prescribed dose, it is safest to closely monitor for any unusual symptoms and inform your treating psychiatrist/physician immediately. If you develop severe restlessness, abnormal movements, fainting, or palpitations, please seek urgent medical care without delay.
Health Tips
Do not take the next scheduled dose until your doctor confirms. Always double-check the dosage before taking medicines to avoid such errors in the future.
