I am writing to seek a professional riskassessment regarding a potential indirect rabies exposure that occurred today,February 16, 2026.I've been struggling with anxiety regarding this incident and would appreciate your clinical perspective based on my extensive vaccinationhistory. August-October 2025:Received 5doses.February9,2026:Received my most recent dose (4th dose of the current cycle).5th dose due at20s of feb.Today, while walking,I felt a sudden"twitching" sensation on the fabric of my jeans. While I did not see a dog because i was doing pranaam to god i looked around a moment later, I am concerned that a stray dog may have licked or mouthed my leg without me noticing.Approximately two minutes after the sensation,I touched the specific area on my jeans to check for moisture.Though it felt dry.HoweverI have several open hangnails and small wounds on my fingertips due to a chronic nail biting. i washed hands suddenly ( no soap). is there risk of rabies through near nail wounds?

This is an anxiety-driven perceived exposure, not a real rabies risk event.
Rabies transmission requires direct saliva contact with broken skin or mucosa. Indirect contact via dry clothing followed by touching your own minor hangnails does not qualify.
