I have been dealing with lower jaw pain under ear and neck for more than 10 months now. Been to multiple doctors and dentists and no relief yet. The OMFS said it's Myofascial pain dysfunction and internal derangement because of bruxism. He told me to do physical therapy. Wanted to know if PT really helps muscle tightness and tension. I do have some lump like spots in jaw and neck which are very sore and tender to touch. It hurts a lot. How do we get relief from this pain through PT?
I tried PT earlier in August and it makes my pain so worse. So I didn't go back. Have been to many doctors and none of the medicine help with my pain and symptoms.
Does PT really help chronic pain with severe muscle tension. My muscles in the jaw, neck and upper back are so tight and stiff.
What modalities have to be tried as part of PT? Please help.
