Does psychosis including delusions hallucinations reoccur after completion of treatment for 3 years? Or should d treatment need to be taken lifelong.my cousin diagnosed with first episode of psychosis and improvement seen with tablets trinicalm plus 5mg twice a day and Amisulpride 200 mg twice a day.

As per international guidelines first episode of psychosis should be treated for 2 years, if second episode recurs it should be treated for 5 years and if one more episode recurs it should be treated for lifelong. I hope it answers your query
