Doctor is not prescribing Escitalopram
I've been suffering with depression from last couple of years, was prescribed with 10mg  Escitalopram by my previous psychiatrist, it made great changes in my life. But he moved to another city, so I had to look for another psychiatrist. But he's not ready to prescribe me escitalopram. Instead of that he's pushing for benzos, I don't want to take benzos after hearing all the horror.

Hi. I would recommend that you present your case strongly to your new psychiatrist and if he still does not try to listen, please change your psychiatrist. Your psychiatrist needs to listen to your needs and make you feel heard and if taking benzos is not comfortable, they may not be a good fit.

Hi, It's important for you to advocate for yourself and express your concerns to your new psychiatrist. If you feel strongly that Escitalopram has been working well for you and you don't want to switch to benzos, you should communicate this to your psychiatrist. You can also consider seeking a second opinion from another psychiatrist who may be more willing to continue your current medication regimen. It's important to find a psychiatrist who listens to your needs and respects your preferences for treatment.
