Do vaccines work against indian variants
It is really heart breaking and scary to see emminent doctors like Dr K. K. Aggarwal passing away from covid even after being fully vaccinated. Does this mean the vaccines do not work against the Indian variants? We are still going for vaccination, but it is very demoralising.

Hello, Yes it is disheartening to loose such renowned doctors to this pandemic. Vaccination for any disease is not a 100% protection against the disease. It can only give us an extra layer of defense to fight the disease. Both the COVID vaccines in india are efficient, and we can see a decrease in deaths of people who are vaccinated when compared to people who are not. As of now, there is no clear enough data regarding the variants that are prevalent in the country.
Next Steps
What to do : Get vaccinated and follow proper covid appropriate behaviours like social distancing and masking even after vaccination. Also, do stay home as much as possible.
