Dizziness after bathing or in evening
Age: 25 Gender: Male I have been experiencing dizziness mainly after bathing, and sometimes in the morning or evening for the past 6 days. Recent blood tests show Vitamin D level = 6 ng/mL. All other blood parameters were reported normal. Additional details: I drink around 3–4 litres of water daily. No known medical conditions. No fever, vomiting, or recent illness. Dizziness feels like: (light-headed) Episodes last about 1-2 hours. Any associated symptoms: hard to focus when it is severe. Could severe Vitamin D deficiency alone cause these symptoms, or should I evaluate other causes such as BP issues, inner ear problems, or nutritional deficiency? What investigations or treatment would you recommend?

You seem to be having  postural hypotension,  i.e. fall of b.p. on standing. Vit d deficiency will not cause it. For the deficiency,  you can take tab cholecalciferol 60,000 units once a week for 6 to 8 weeks. Take fortified cereals,  eggs, nuts, soya, milk products,  mushrooms in your diet. For postural hypotension,  avoid standing for long time continuously.  Get a cardiac echo done to exclude any valvular issue.

Your Vitamin D level of 6 ng/mL indicates severe deficiency and definitely needs correction. However, Vitamin D deficiency alone rarely causes isolated light-headed dizziness like you’re describing. Your symptom pattern — mainly after bathing, light-headed (not spinning), lasting 1–2 hours — is more suggestive of: • Postural (orthostatic) hypotension • Blood pressure drop after hot shower (vasodilation) • Possible low BP tendency • Less commonly: B12 deficiency, mild anemia, or thyroid imbalance Since all other routine labs were normal, the most likely cause is transient BP fluctuation, not a serious neurological problem.
Next Steps
✔ Start Vitamin D correction: • 60,000 IU weekly for 8 weeks • Then maintenance dose (60,000 IU once monthly) • Take with fatty meal ✔ Check: • Blood pressure (lying and standing after 1 & 3 minutes) • Vitamin B12FerritinThyroid profile (if not done) ✔ Modify routine: • Avoid very hot showers • Sit for 1–2 minutes before standing • Maintain balanced salt intake (if no hypertension) If symptoms persist beyond 2–3 weeks despite correction, consider ECG and further evaluation.
Health Tips
✔ Do not overhydrate without adequate salt intake ✔ Sleep 7–8 hours daily ✔ Avoid sudden posture changes ✔ Get 15–20 minutes sunlight exposure daily ✔ Recheck Vitamin D after 8–10 weeks Your condition appears manageable and not alarming, but structured evaluation will prevent recurrence and rule out subtle causes early. If you’d like a precise, step-wise correction and monitoring plan tailored to your reports and lifestyle, booking an online consultation will allow me to guide you systematically and reduce these episodes confidently.

Hello, Your Vitamin D level (6 ng/mL) is severely low and definitely needs treatment. However, Vitamin D deficiency alone usually does not cause sudden dizziness after bathing. Dizziness after bath or in evening is more commonly related to low blood pressure, dehydration, or circulation changes (especially after hot shower). The good thing is your other reports are normal, which is reassuring. What you can do next: • Start Vitamin D supplementation as prescribed (usually weekly high dose for 6–8 weeks). • Check blood pressure (sitting and standing). • Avoid very hot showers. • Add some electrolytes if drinking large amounts of plain water. • If dizziness persists, get Hb, B12, and ECG checked. Healthy tips: • Do not skip meals. • Get 15–20 minutes sunlight daily. • Rise slowly from sitting or lying position. Since your symptoms last 1–2 hours, a proper consultation with BP evaluation can help identify the exact cause and guide targeted treatment instead of assuming it’s only Vitamin D.

Vitamin D alone usually doesn’t cause this. It may be BP drop after hot bath. Check BP, avoid very hot showers, eat on time, start Vitamin D. Please consult me for proper diagnosis and treatment.
