Hi..My newborn is 4 weeks old and is having trouble to sleep.. first 2 weeks she was sleeping whole day and was awake almost whole night but for past two weeks she sleeps for almost 4 hours at night and stays awake whole day.. and naps for 2-3 hrs in evening. she cries almost whole day and it is getting difficult to console her. But she sleeps when she lies on me and wakes up immediately when put down on her back.. please tell me how to deal with this.

It is a normal phenomenon in that age. In olden times mother and child ( jaccha baccha) used to be roomed in for three months , so that mother would rest when baby sleeps and be awake when baby was awake.- no other activity. Nowadays mothers are active and do a lot of work and are socially active also. Hence the problem.
