Diabitis type2 and knee replacement
Hello...my mom is 63 yrs old and she had knee pain,doctor of appolo hospital,ahmedabad had advised to knee replacement operation.but mom had diabitis type and suger level is from 180 to 220. h1bac is 8.5.please advise operation should do or not.

Yes diabetes is decompensated physiology rather a disesae , for knee replacement it's not bothersome , can be well managed by general physician also during perioperative phase. Get the knee replaced it will improve quality of life.

I think you can go ahead with surgery with consultation with your surgeon and endocrinologist who will take care of Diabetes. With surgery she will more mobile which will help in keeping diabetes well under control
