Hello.. Your sugar control is fair but the tablet you are using especially pioglitazone is not preferable nowadays because of safety profile and availability of other good medicines... Consult endocrinologist for modification of your medicines and complete management of your diabetes

You are on combination tablet glimipride + metformin+ pioglitazone. Among these tablets pioglitazone can cause weight gain and even glimipride can cause weight gain. But again used properly can manage the weight gain. But both are very good drugs for diabetes. Considering all this even lifestyle can cause weight gain like eating habits are not well controlled and no regular exercise can also lead to weight gain.
