Depression
My sister has been suffering severe depression due to her in laws for quite some years. Got her treated when we initially identified her problem. She recovered well with medication but she stopped taking medicine since past 6months. Her condition has worsened now. She has stopped taking the usual food. Stands or sits blankly. Cries or laughs without any reason. We are quite worried about her. Is her condition treatable?

Since she has recovered well with medication before & now her condition has worsened after stopping the medication, she needs to visit a psychiatrist who will prescribe her the necessary medication. She will get better with medication but has to continue it for a specific duration as advised by the doctor, else the chances of recurrence are high.
Next Steps
You need to take her to a psychiatrist at the earliest to prevent further deterioration.

Hi, from what you have written, it seems like your sister may be suffering from Schizophrenia. In that case, detailed evaluation by a Psychiatrist will be needed and medication may have to be given for a long time. Suddenly stopping the medicine may have led to this relapse of symptoms. It is good to hear that she had responded well to medication in the past, hence she will respond well again. You have not written what medication she was taking in the past, but nevertheless please consult your Psychiatrist at the earliest and only then start the medication. It is a treatable condition, but she will need support from family and regular medication for a long time. Hope this helps.
