Hello,
Depression without recovery even when you are compliant can be due to some other underlying condition. It can be due to thyroid, vitamin abnormality, bipolar mood disorder etc.. Sometimes we miss out hypomania episode as depression covers it. A mood chart will benefit you in that. Adding a mood stabilizer like lithium will cover your bipolar illness and augment your antidepressant treatment as well.

Hello practo user
I can understand the difficult situation that you are going through. The symptoms that you have mentioned are indicating that there might be some stressful , negative past event which is aggravating this low mood , inability to enjoy activities. It is suggested that you seek help from a clinical psychologist for a proper in-depth analysis of your case and also help you understand the root cause of your discomfort through regular psychotherapy . It is advisable that you spend quality time with your close family members and friends and engage in multiple activities with them . Surround yourself with positive individuals. Hello
Sorry to hear that the treatment isn’t working for you.
It could be due to a multiple interplay of reasons but initially it would be better to know that are you on only counselling (therapy) or medication as well.
In the case of the option that both are being simultaneously applied, there is a possibility that the result isn’t there as
1. The medication has not suited you
2. You and the therapist aren’t on the same page
3. Diagnosis may need reconsideration
4. Trial of medicine is too short or inadequate
I would urge you to see your existing doctor and discuss this with him to her
Next Steps
Be strong, try to develop your coping mechanisms for depression.
