Your is a case of generalised severe periodontitis which means destruction of bone surrounding the teeth in almost all area of your mouth. Generally, such cases have poor prognosis as they are associated with poor oral hygiene or systemic problem like diabetes. Teeth which are very much mobile need to be extracted and others need intervention for it's long term stabilization. Regards, Dr Vishal Jain

Dear Anantharaman Your x-ray shows severe bone loss indicating generalized periodontitis requiring urgent intervention, a flap surgery. But if your teeth are very much mobile and gums beyond repair, some or all teeth may need extractions also, followed by replacement. From the x-ray, prognosis seems to be poor. Still, we can try prolonging the life of teeth and gums using lasers. Do you have any medical problems like diabetes, or vitamin deficiencies? Please check your vitamin D levels and start taking multivitamins with nutritious food, fruits, eggs, milk etc. Consult a periodontist
